Since the Test for Echo Tour in 1996, Geddy Lee has opted for major household appliances instead of onstage amps and speakers. To simplify his gear for new projects, Geddy partnered with Tech 21 to create the GED-2112, a Signature SansAmp. This complex collaboration entailed condensing multiple equipment into a single rackspace. Geddy describes the GED-2112 as a continuation of his sought-after bass tone, combining a "deep clean" sound with the "edgy crunch" of the SansAmp RPM, all within one sleek box.

The DI-2112 SansAmp is a fusion of the GED-2112 rackmount and the compact YYZ pedal, offering a sophisticated blend of two signal paths while maintaining portability and versatility for both studio and live settings. Its architectural structure is the perfect balance of functionality and elegance, making it a must-have for any musician or studio professional seeking premium sound quality.

The Drive pre-amp section is modeled after the versatile SansAmp RPM, providing a diverse array of sonic options. The Deep pre-amp section boasts rich, full-bodied tones. Saturation ranges from crisp and clear at lower settings to heightened harmonics and tube-like compression at higher settings. Each section can be used separately by connecting to the Drive/Mix out, or blended externally by utilizing both outputs to a mixer or two amplifiers.

• Effortlessly adjust the semi-parametric EQ from 170 Hz to 3.0 kHz with a sweepable feature, allowing you to cut or boost up to 12dB for ultimate tonal control.

 

• Activate the "Tight" switch for enhanced precision and crispness in clean tones, and a sharper edge in overdriven sounds.
